The answer arrives before they finish asking
ChampAI listens to the meeting audio playing on your computer, transcribes the other person live, and writes a complete AI answer on a window screen sharing cannot see.

Token bucket is the usual answer. Each client gets a bucket that refills at a fixed rate:
- Refill r tokens per second, capped at burst size b.
- A request costs one token; an empty bucket returns 429.
- Store the count and last-refill timestamp in Redis.
It absorbs short bursts, which a fixed window cannot
Everything it does while someone is watching you
Eight small things that together make the difference between a useful assistant and an obvious one.
Meeting audio
Captures what plays on your computer, not your microphone.
Live transcript
Deepgram Nova-3 writes the words as they are spoken.
Whole sentences
Waits for the finalised text, so trailing clauses survive.
Streaming answers
Words appear as DeepSeek writes them, not after.
Screenshot questions
Send the screen with a question in one click.
Markdown answers
Headings, lists and fenced code, sanitised before display.
Hidden window
Kept out of screen sharing while it stays on your display.
Always on top
Floats above the call, transparent enough to see through.
It hears the meeting, not you
The audio playing through your speakers or headphones is what gets transcribed, so your microphone stays free for the conversation.
- Captured through ScreenCaptureKit - headphones change nothing
- Deepgram Nova-3 transcribes as they speak
- Waits for the finalised text so trailing clauses are not clipped
So how would you keep the cache consistent across regions?
And what breaks first under load?
Ask about whatever is on the screen
One click sends the current screen with your question, so a diagram, a stack trace or a shared document can be answered directly.
- DeepSeek reads the image and the question together
- Resized before sending, so it stays fast
- Answers come back as Markdown - code stays code
Invisible to whatever you are sharing
Hide mode keeps the window off the shared stream while it stays on your own display, floating above the call.
- Excluded from screen capture, not just moved aside
- Always on top, with adjustable transparency
- Keys live in a local file - nothing is proxied through us
Hide mode keeps the window out of the shared stream while it stays on your own display.

Frequently asked questions
Can the other person hear or see it?
No. It listens to the audio your computer is already playing and never touches your microphone, so nothing of it reaches the call. With Hide mode on, the window is also excluded from anything you screen share.
Does it need my microphone?
No - that is the point. Earlier versions used the mic, which broke the moment you put headphones on. It now captures system audio through ScreenCaptureKit, so headphones make no difference.
Where do the answers come from?
DeepSeek writes the answers and Deepgram does the transcription. Both run through the ChampAI server on your plan's credits, so there are no API keys to set up.
What does it cost?
Free to start, with 10 AI and 20 speech credits a month. Pro is ₹699 a month and Ultra Pro ₹2,999 a month, plus GST, with more credit and hands-free Auto mode.
Which machines does it run on?
macOS and Windows. The macOS build uses ScreenCaptureKit for system audio, so it needs a recent version of macOS.
